There is a balance to life , not just in your own but in the cycle of life in general. If one part dominates another then imbalance occurs. We call it disease, mental illness, addiction, religious zealousness(is that a word?), hunger, greed, egoism, anger and I’m sure a host of others. The balance to life are 3 things: Body, Mind and Spirit. You have to understand that a lack in any one of these creates an unhealthy state. If you have too much spirit you lose touch with reality. You use spirit to deal with reality. If you have too much body focus, you lose touch with spirit, because we are all spiritual beings. If you have too much mind, you intellectualize everything and lose touch with spirit and body. The best way to maintain balance is to quiet the mind, which is the most powerful. To ‘listen’ to the body and connect with spirit. The heart is the junction point between the body and the mind. And whatever is in your heart the body and mind will follow. The natural desire to give comes from the heart and radiates to what is intended. The only blockage is the ego, which tends to filter all of thoughts and actions and to protect us from harm. The only drawback is it would have us think that it’s goals are our goals. When in reality, we are much more than that. That I cannot tell you, yet I believe this all ties into building relationships that are satisfying. All relationships have ebbs and flows, and if we can recognize that we are all the same with different perspectives, then maybe we could fit in together. It’s not that we are all that different, everyone has a voice and wants to be heard and liked and followed and comfortable and a lot of really cool things. I think we can do it, if we choose to treat others the way we would like to be treated. Always strive for that. If you are giving someone respect, expect that back. Courtesy, manners, all go hand in hand. This is so important. We can’t lose that. Ok, this is my rant and an important one, no doubt. No links, just follow me.
Well, I do! If you do too, then you will want to read on. I want more money, more time and more energy. When I started in the barber business 25 years ago, a seasoned fellow barber said that you can never rest on your laurels, you have to always be building. Customers come and go, and in my years of business, every reason under the sun is used as to why people do business with you or not. Face it, you can’t be all things to all people. The best thing I have found so far to get repeat customers is to be yourself and to offer the best service or product you possibly can. In reality, I have never really liked sales. I’ve always abhored the idea of being a salesman, the plaid jacket, the slick talk. Blaugh! Yet, all my life and yours probably too, I have been selling. We can’t get away from it. We sell to make a living, doesn’t matter what your business is, we sell to be liked and to fit in and on and on. I could write a whole nother article on the psychology of selling, but 100’s have already done that. I want to talk to you about why owning a network marketing business can be frustrating at times. The first thing that frustrates me is all the hype. The blatant in your face selling under the guise of being social. Gee, you could be online for hours, get very little done, just chasing one empty promise of riches after another. You know, when you direct message someone on Twitter, don’t just do it to cram some web address in their inbox selling something, get to know the person first. Is that how you like to be approached? I don’t. Let me get to know you first before I decide to lay down the cash. Gosh, I have to trust that my investment will be sound. In these tough economic times, we are all alot more careful where we invest, we still have to eat! Besides, do you really have the best thing going, ’cause you sure are being pushy. Pushy does not work today. The old sales ‘tricks’ are outdated. Tricks in sales period do not work. If you want someone to join your team then you have to offer them something they truly need and YOU have to be willing to work with them if you feel they will be an asset to your business. Ten really good clients is far better than 100 that have NO interest in owning a business. You have to go the extra mile for those precious 10, sometimes giving away some stuff, too. Hey, it takes money to make money and if it don’t, tell me where that dang money tree is at! Pronto. Network Marketing is hard work. It takes guts and staying power. It takes a lot more than that, but those are just details. I spent awhile in business online and off. There are only a few things you need to do to stay with it. Be realist, stay with it, and learn. Learn to be a better business owner by being a real person. Someone people can relate to and not feel pressured to buy. Hey, I know of such a company and I DO think it is the best and I DO think you should check it out. Honestly, I do not want you to purchase anything, not until you have fully investigated this network marketing opportunity. I joined Occupy the City for one thing, to be at home with my son. He is elementary school age and is out of school a lot and of course summer. I joined others so that together we can help build out our businesses. The workload is less stressful and the positive results are easier to gain with the support of a team. Thereby reducing the frustration that can come from owning a network marketing business alone. What I’m talking about is a group of internet entrepreneurs who are teaming up to achieve internet business success. We, the internet small business owners that I am talking about, are bringing ALL of our internet skills together to make a powerful impact in the 21st Century Cyber World. Today, business online is maybe more important than doing business offline. Especially now, that our new president is leading the way to more and more ways to transmitting useful information across the globe.
One of the major pitfalls for network marketers is finding their target market. A network marketing business is a long term proposition but unless you’ve done some due diligence and worked out exactly who it is you need to attract to your business then you’ll be firing arrows at a blank wall. In other words, no target. So the answer to this dilemma-DO YOUR HOMEWORK Hit and miss prospecting is rife in multi level marketing and is one of the reasons the industry has such a huge attrition rate. For example, many network marketers are taught that everyone is their prospect. Those of us who have been around for awhile KNOW this is just not true. Network marketing is kind of a redundant term since marketing is networking. Duh This is so damaging it bears repeating. Everyone is not your prospect. When you target people who have not expressed any interest in what you have to offer what do you think the chances are that they will be receptive to your offer? It won’t be very good. What happens most of the time is you’ll get a rejection followed by another and another until you get to the stage where you can’t handle anymore rejections and ultimately, the next step is, you’ll quit. After all, you have a network marketing business and were attracted to it because you wanted to find solutions to problems. By joining different social networks you can see what interests others. Do informal surveys of the topics people gravitate to and put your information out there too. Learn how to reciprocate. Ask yourself, what attracted you to your current business? Was it the product solely or the people involved or both? The answers to those questions will tell you what others are doing to find solutions to their problems. What we are trying to achieve here is a loyal following that we give quality services, information and products to. By building relationships with people that have a mutual interest to do business with us, we insure growth. Once you identify what problems could be facing prospective prospects then you can base your marketing and promotions around them and begin attracting them into your sales funnel.
